Bitcoin Slips Below $84,000 as Oil Prices Rebound and Bitcoin ETFs See Heavy Outflows
After briefly rising above $84,000, Bitcoin lost the impetus for its upward trend since recovering oil prices and worries regarding institutional investment flows had a negative effect on the cryptocurrency market. As a result, traders are now keeping an eye on important support levels while evaluating the impact of economic uncertainty.
The retreat had the same effect on other major digital assets, such as Ethereum, XRP, and Solana, which also fell in value alongside Bitcoin.
Bitcoin Gives Up Its Early Gains
Bitcoin rose initially during the Asian trading session but was unable to hold on to its gains. It reached a level of about $84,250 and then moved back towards $83,400, as shown in the market figures given in the original report.
Recovery took place at the same time as oil prices fell. Nevertheless, crude oil later recovered and this increased uncertainty in the financial markets.
Similar price changes were also observed in other major cryptocurrencies, which shows that the pressure went beyond that affecting Bitcoin.

Oil Prices Recover Amid Geopolitical Uncertainty
Oil prices were an important factor in the early developments of the market; the futures for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil first dropped below $90 a barrel before rising again to about $92.63, which amounted to a daily increase of about 0.8% at the time of the report.
The drop that had occurred before was due to announcements regarding a possible increase in the amount of diesel supplies from Russia and measures taken to reduce energy-related tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
Yet there was still uncertainty concerning the reported developments regarding the ceasefire. The Ukrainian authorities stated that they had not been consulted about the proposed energy truce, and further worries were caused by the reports of ongoing attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Fluctuations in energy prices can affect expectations regarding inflation and interest rates; if oil prices stay high, investors might become more cautious concerning assets that are sensitive to economic conditions, such as cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin ETF Outflows Raise Investor Concerns
A big concern in the crypto market is the sum of money that is exiting the U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds.
The original report cites figures showing that these funds experienced net outflows of about $681 million in the past week, which was their biggest weekly withdrawal since June.
The majority of the withdrawals are said to have taken place on October 7 and 8, which indicates that there was lower institutional demand at that time.
The fact that there are large outflows from ETFs doesn’t mean that Bitcoin will keep on falling, but such outflows could indicate a reduced desire on the part of investors and might lessen the buying pressure in a market which is already encountering other difficulties.
